Because no other Café could possibly enjoy a better location than looking down on their glorious panoramic spread of olde English farmland with its meandering river and wooded hillside; unspoilt for centuries you could never tire of that view, no matter how many visits you made.

And no other Café has such a cornucopia of food delights literally ‘next door’, providing Head Chef Ross with a constant supply of the freshest and finest produce to use in his own imaginative dishes.

Now in its thirteenth year, Valley View Café has very firmly established itself as the area’s best loved go-to for foodies from far and near – here is their story …

Just as the Winzer family business had diversified over the years in other ways, a Café showcasing their commitment to the very best of local food and drink was a logical development and, with Mary Berry cutting the ribbon, Valley View Café opened its doors.

As hospitality was Amy’s area of expertise – and with an exceptionally talented culinary team supporting the kitchen – it was natural that the Café became her area of focus within the burgeoning Winzer family business. The combination of their own meat together with carefully selected local produce from trusted suppliers ensures Head Chef Ross has an exceptional larder with which to work, and Amy’s attention to detail has enabled them to create a foodie heaven.

What started small has, just like Topsy, grown! In those early days, all the scrumptious cakes were lovingly baked by Mum Susie and word spread very quickly about the wonderful new venue for coffee and cake and so much more.

With their internal seating with its vintage chic influence at a premium, their flower-filled decking area was soon in constant use, even on less than sunny days – but who notices when your hands are wrapped around one of their amazing Hot Chocolates!

Now complete with a generously sized all-year-round Marquee extending their seating capacity, plus external seating enabling a safe eye to be kept on children enjoying their play area or making the most of the stunning setting, Valley View Café is still often a full house, such is its popularity.

And why wouldn’t it be your first choice for mid-morning coffee, afternoon tea, lunches, breakfast or their leisurely Sunday Brunch when you know you will always be warmly welcomed with a smile from the friendly team; the food, no matter what you choose, will be unfailingly deliciously tasty and the portions generous; and the environment relaxed and comfortable?

Never standing still, Amy and the team now offer a range of seasonal foodie opportunities, from lovingly assembled treat boxes for special occasions to take-away options at selected times, in addition to a host of family-orientated activities from funfilled family events to Easter Egg Hunts and Pick Your Own Wildflower Meadows … truly a Café like no other!

Fruit, salad and vegetables are from Cornish Farm Produce or homegrown where possible on our own farm!
Our coffee is from local producers Owens in Modbury and our new loose leaf teas from local company Plymouth Tea.
